Reverend Isaac Langley
A white pastor and founder of The New Day Temple, (a church with a foundation predicted upon underlying concepts of White Supremacy).
“projects that in Canada, the conflict will be between the French 🇫🇷 and the English; in England 🇬🇧 between the Catholics and Protestants; in 🇫🇷 France between the French and Algerians; etc. In the United States, the conflict will be between Blacks and Whites and this conflict is the focus and theme of this production.
As a central character, Legion surfaces to unite the following characters into a satanic trinity.
A white pastor and founder of The New Day Temple, (a church with a foundation predicted upon underlying concepts of White Supremacy).
Black leader of a nationwide drug gang called the “Slicks” and son of Cora Lee Dexter who is possessed by Legion.
Biracial chairwoman of the American Euthanasia Association. (Voices of the Seven Thunders also projects that by the year 2032, no cures will have been found for cancer or AIDS and thousands will lean towards euthanasia as their “dignified right to die.”)
A natural-born writer who honed his craft against the weight of pain — and still found his voice.
Lloyd Howard Carter was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1947, the third son of James Carter and Mattie Teague, who was born deaf and mute. Growing up, the challenges surrounding his parents’ disabilities profoundly shaped his life and later became a source of reflection in his literary pursuits.Â
A natural storyteller, Lloyd developed his craft while incarcerated in the United States Federal prison system. The hardships, personal struggles, and lessons that emerged from those years continue to influence the themes and authenticity of his work.Â
His publication credit includes The Makings of Frankensteins, which appeared in the Los Angeles Times during the 1980s while he was incarcerated in Lompoc, California.Â
BOOK ONE
“Don’t get me wrong, people. I don’t want to mislead you into believing that the tables were always set for me. I clearly remember the morning when I walked to the other side of town to join the Boy Scouts and was told that I couldn’t register because Smokey the Bear wasn’t about to disgrace himself by shaking a Black boy’s hand, but I kept my dreams alive. I can still see the long, saddened face of a fifth grade teacher who told me that I couldn’t enter the city’s Science Fair Project because I didn’t have the substance to compete with my White brothers and sisters, but I kept my dreams alive. I can still hear the laughs and cackles of my high school counselors when I expressed an interest to enter the University of Alabama on a scholarship level, but I kept my dreams alive. And when I graduated from the University of Alabama—”
“Su tsniaga ssapssert ohw!” Standing behind a silver platter mounted on an inverted cement cross, the seven-footer waved its hands over a circle of thirteen candles and picked up a goblet made from a goat’s skull.
“Drink! And live in the trinity!” the seven-footer commanded and handed him the goblet. As the thick, warm fluid trickled down his throat, a bluish-green stream of smoke rose from an open grave and drifted high into the night.
“Esoht evigrof ew sa!”
He closed his eyes as the other figure sprinkled a foul-smelling substance over his head.
“Sessapssert ruo su evigrof dna!”
What beta readers, authors, and editors have said about book one of The Voices Of The Seven Thunders.
This reads smoothly with realistic dialogue in good detail. It’s well thought out and runs together well.
The dialogue fits the characters and makes them believable. It may be offensive to some, but for realism, it needs to be as it is written.
The characters are believable and lifelike. I am wondering about the similarity between Donald’s glassy-eyed stare after leaving Langley. I’ll be looking forward to the next book.
VOICES OF THE SEVEN THUNDERS IS AN EPIC SCIENCE FICTION THRILLER WHERE RACISM BECOMES A WEAPON OF SPIRITUAL DECEPTION, AND HUMANITY STANDS AT THE THRESHOLD OF AN APOCALYPTIC RECKONING.
